Ramair VAG 1.8T Performance Intake Kit 70mm – JSK-103
If you want more airflow into your 1.8T engine, this intake kit from Ramair is a well-engineered upgrade over the restrictive factory setup. It replaces all of the original intake pipework right back to the turbo inlet (the point where air enters the turbocharger), giving the engine a less obstructed path to breathe. The result is improved throttle response, a more noticeable induction sound, and the foundation for better performance – especially on tuned or modified vehicles.
Ramair have been developing induction systems for many years, and their approach is straightforward: if the kit does not deliver real-world gains, they simply do not make it. This is not a generic part – it has been developed specifically for the 1.8T engine family found across a range of popular VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) vehicles.
High-Flow Performance Filter
At the heart of this kit is a performance foam air filter, built using Ramair’s twin-layer foam design. This construction allows more air to pass through compared to a standard paper filter, while still filtering out dirt and debris effectively. The filter sits within a satin black, flow-calculated trumpet (a shaped inlet that helps air enter smoothly) and is supported by a stainless steel cage for long-term durability.
CNC Laser-Cut Heat Shield
A two-part heat shield is included to help keep the filter away from hot engine bay air. Warm air is less dense than cold air, and denser, cooler air produces better combustion – so keeping heat away from the intake matters. The shield is laser-cut for precision, assembled using aircraft-grade rivets, and finished in a satin black powder coat. Ramair use the same production methods for their motorsport equipment, so the quality here is genuine rather than cosmetic.
